Queer Santiago de Chile
Twirl, devour and procure your way through this LGBTQ+ guide of Santiago de Chile
In the past 20 years, due to the country's economic and political stability, Santiago has become a melting pot of culture, global cuisine, and music from throughout Latin America. Santiago is the center of Chile’s queer culture, and you’ll find a variety of places to celebrate it whether that’s in the city’s glitzy Providencia neighborhood or the party hub of Bellavista. Santiago queers love hard techno and dark underground raves so if you’re looking to dance until sunrise you’ve come to the right place. The capital city’s LGBTQ+ residents live throughout the sprawling metropolis, but Lastarria is the unofficial gayborhood. Expect to find charming brunch spots, and modern art museums such as the MAC and the GAM cultural center. Parque Forestal is where you can find Chileans lounging in the summer sun or making out with their latest crush. The Neoclassical buildings in this area resemble Europe and house a variety of charming street-side cafes and niche shopping experiences.
